In search of win No. 1, call it a mission accomplished.
Marblehead’s football team (1-2) took care of business last Friday, cruising past Shepherd Hill, 55-8, at newly-renovated Piper Field.
Truth be told, everyone got involved in this one. Yael Garcia ran for two touchdowns, including a 70-yard burst to help catapult the Magicians to the win column.
Crew Monaco and Colt Wales also delivered scores. Bernardo Bannis and Oscar Galante (83-yard run for first varsity touchdown) found the endzone as well, while quarterback Finn Gallup threw touchdown tosses to Sam Thompson and Cam Quigley in the promised land.
Marblehead forced three turnovers, to boot. Drew Goldman scooped a fumble, Bodie Smith snagged an interception, and kicker Finbar Bresnahan converted seven extra-point attempts.
Next up for the Magicians is a road tilt at North Andover this Friday at 6 p.m. Coach Jim Rudloff and company seek a different outcome than last fall: 22-7 loss at Piper Field.
