To the editor:
The parent who is currently suing our town, through a civil-rights action, on behalf of their 9-year-old son should instead be thanking the teachers and staff for helping aid and protect their son during his mental and physical episodes. They put themselves at risk. The parent’s claim of harm done to their son is ridiculous, a headache! In his nine years, the boy has probably done more to harm himself and others, unintentionally of course, and I truly sympathize for them and their son, but this lawsuit smells like pure greed.
I don’t know how much the teachers and staff involved in this travesty have lost out emotionally, financially, and career-wise, but if the town does compensate anyone it should be them. It feels like it is their civil rights that have been violated.
This parent knows their son is a loose cannon on a ship full of people and programs helping him to get an education and this is their response? Not right!
