The Abbot Public Library’s Summer Reading Program comes to a close on Friday, Aug. 16. If you participated in the library’s children’s, teen, or adult Summer Reading activities, turn in your reading logs between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to be entered for the Summer Reading Raffle.
Children’s End of Summer Reading Party
Friday, Aug. 16, Drop-In 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Killam Children’s Room, Abbot Public Library
Ice cream cups and free books will be given out to all participants who completed 10 books on their reading records of any kind through reading or listening. The Summer Reading prizes include a certificate of $25 from Saltwater Books for the top three children readers/listeners for the summer. Age brackets for readers/listeners are 0-5 years, 6-8 years, and 9-12 years.

The Teen Prize is for ages 12-19 and includes a $25 gift certificate to Saltwater Books, $25 gift certificate to Terry’s Ice Cream, and an Abbot Public Library mug.
Adult Summer Reading Closing Reception
Friday, Aug. 16, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Celebrate the end of summer reading with the library and get your next stack for the fall! Come together for a relaxing party to meet other readers, chat about what you’ve read, and share your summer adventures. Make sure to bring your Adventure Log. Refreshments will be provided and registration is not required! The Adult Prize is for ages 18 and older and includes a $50 gift certificate to Saltwater Books, an Abbot Public Library gift tote with a mug and other goodies, and a behind-the-scenes tour of the new Abbot Public Library space from Director Kimberly Grad.
