LTTE: A very well-deserved thank you

December 17, 2025 by To The Editor

To the editor:

I wanted to thank the citizens of Marblehead for their outpouring of what community spirt, respect, and support means in our town. First off, on a very cold Saturday, Dec. 6 morning at 6 a.m., many of you showed up in droves to unload wreaths for the Wreaths Across America event set for Dec. 13.

Next, you answered the call again by showing up on a cold and brisk Saturday morning to place those wreaths on the graves of veterans many of you didn’t even know, but it showed your respect to those who put their hand up, take an oath, and to answer the call that our nation could never say thank you enough for, Our Freedom.

Later that day, you once again showed your support and community spirt by attending our Army vs. Navy Game Event at VFW Post 2005. Citizens of all ages, young and old, veteran and non-veterans, were treated to an incredible event both at our “Top Side” function hall and in our “Bunker Bar,” and may I add it was truly an honor to have Glovers Regiment shoot three volleys at kickoff. This incredible event with food, T-shirts, terrible towels, raffle items to benefit Company 2 Heroes, a charity that provides PTSD dogs for veterans, and may I add, while also contributing to the “Toys for Tots” program to make a difference in a child’s Christmas was no less than overwhelming.

That evening, many of you attended the continuation of the day in the “The Bunker” with a tremendous music event with Nick Sear, and Brenden Kane and their band “Glass Harbor.” All in all, a great day and night from start to finish to honor, respect, and to celebrate.

There are so many people to thank for their time, support efforts, and well passion for what many called an incredible day and night in the Town of Marblehead. If I happen to overlook anyone, I apologize in advance:
