To the editor,
I am writing in support of Ed Nilsson’s re-election to the Marblehead Planning Board. Ed’s long-time architectural experience and perspective on preserving our heritage make him a valued member of the Planning Board. He initiated the adoption of the Shoreline District bylaw in the 1970s that set parameters on preserving the view of the shore from Marblehead Harbor, so that people could not build ugly mansions facing the water. We have Ed to thank for that. He is also very experienced in green building initiatives and will be a valued leader as Marblehead works to become a certified Green Community which will unlock grant funding for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
Vote to re-elect Ed Nilsson on June 10.
