Magicians receive conference awards

The Northeastern Conference released its end-of-season track and field awards, which featured plenty of student-athletes from Marblehead High.

The Marblehead and Peabody girls finished as co-champions of the Dunn Division. The Magician girls went 8-1 overall and 3-1 within the division.

All-Conference performers from Marblehead were Jacob Szalewicz (800m), Will Cerrutti (mile), Nate Assa (2-mile), the 4x800m relay team of Cerrutti, Henrik Adams, Assa, and Szalewicz, Paige Tredwell (110m hurdles), and the 4x800m relay team of Norah Walsh, Marion Grace Ladouceur, Marrietta O’Connell, and Geneva Becker.

Noah Jackson, O’Connell, Lucy Flynn, and Sarah Munroe were named All-Stars.

NEC Championship Meet winners were Szalewicz (800m: 1:55.60), Cerrutti (mile: 4:27.94), Assa (2-mile: meet record time of 9:13.36), the boys 4×800 relay team (meet record time of 8:16.32), Tredwell (110m hurdles: 15.68), and the girls 4x800m relay team (10:42.47).
