Making Ends Meet for Marblehead has begun searching for volunteers for their Adopt a Family (AAF) program.
According to its website, “Making Ends Meet has been able to offer grants to locals who have nowhere else to turn when faced with unexpected hardships. Overdue rent, utilities that are facing shut off, medical bills, and other unforeseen expenses have been provided by Making Ends Meet.”
The group also gets heavily involved during the holiday season through the AAF program, which has been around since the 1990s and has helped many families in need.
According to its website, the group can, thanks to volunteers, support around 100 families and their children with gifts and gift cards.
According to a press release, “Working with Marblehead school counselors and the Marblehead Counseling Center, qualifying families provide a ‘wish list’ of gift requests for their children. AAF distributes these wish lists to sponsors who shop for families, usually in the range of $100 per child.”
Sponsors will receive wish lists during the first week of December, and the wrapped gifts will be collected on Dec. 18.
