Emergency crews rescued a man late Sunday morning after he fell 15 to 20 feet from rocks at Chandler Hovey Park, suffering a head injury.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:55 a.m. near Lighthouse Lane, where the man landed on the rocky shoreline. Officials said the man was conscious and alert when responders arrived.
Marblehead Fire Department crews used a Stokes basket, which is a stretcher designed for rough terrain, to extricate the man from the rocks and carry him back up to the park. He was transported to Salem Hospital for treatment.
