Arts humanize
Arts soar
Arts free
Arts entertain

Arts make us laugh
Arts discomfort
Arts anger
Arts elevate
Arts inspire
Arts enculturate
Arts transcend
The arts rely on intellectual freedom for their power, and flourish only in a democracy.
As much as we want to relax into summer, funding for the arts, museums and libraries is on the chopping block at the federal level. The National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities are slated to close, along with the Institute of Museum and Library Services. To get the facts and see what’s at stake and actions you can take, go to these websites: National Assembly of State Art Agencies, National Library Association, and the American Alliance of Museums.
It’s time to take action and stand up for the arts.
