Marblehead Christmas Walk returns with holiday cheer

December 4, 2024 by Elizabeth Della Piana

The 53rd annual Marblehead Christmas Walk begins Thursday.

“The Marblehead Chamber of Commerce invites you to Marblehead to enjoy several days of holiday festivities, family events, and activities,” the organization said in a press release.

The first day includes the Holiday Open House at the Marblehead Arts Association, a pop-up shop from Liz Roache Studio, Ladies Night Out at All Chic, the annual tree lighting at St. Michael’s Church, and more.

Day two features the annual tree lighting at the National Grand Bank parking lot and the Lobster Trap Christmas Tree Lighting at Mud Puddle Toys.

On day three, Santa will arrive on his lobster boat. There will also be multiple craft fairs in the area, along with the Gingerbread Festival and Snowflake Festival. Marblehead Bank will host its Gingerbread House Party, and the Living Nativity will take place at Our Lady, Star of the Sea. The night will conclude with the Old North Festival Holiday Concert at Old North Church at 8 p.m.

Sunday, the final day of festivities, will include more craft and market fairs, as well as the continuation of the Gingerbread Festival and Snowflake Festival. The evening will feature a performance by the Follen Angels at Marblehead Little Theatre and another Old North Festival Concert at Old North Church.

“Well known as one of the finest holiday happenings in New England, the Marblehead Christmas Walk is a signature event that captures the warmth of the holiday season throughout the entire town. This is a time when Marblehead’s historic charm shines bright, and the festive spirit of the holidays provides a truly enchanting experience,” the release said.
