The Marblehead Museum, in partnership with the Marblehead Family Fund, will host the 16th Annual Pumpkin Illumination on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Jeremiah Lee Mansion Garden, located at 161 Washington St. This beloved town tradition invites residents to showcase their carved, painted, or decorated pumpkins, which will be displayed in a glowing autumn wonderland for all to enjoy.
The event, which coincides with Marblehead’s town-wide trick-or-treat, promises to be a spooktacular evening for all ages. Local “celebrity” judges will award prizes in various categories, recognizing creativity and Halloween spirit. Goblins and ghouls of all ages are invited to stroll through the illuminated garden to admire the pumpkins’ wild and wonderful designs.
Participants wishing to contribute pumpkins to the illumination can drop them off at the Jeremiah Lee Mansion on Thursday, Oct. 24, between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Pumpkins must be picked up by Friday, Oct. 25, at 5 p.m. Any unclaimed pumpkins will be disposed of by Saturday, Oct. 26, at 9 a.m. Entry for pumpkins is free, and participants can sign up online at www.mhdrec.wufoo.com/forms/q1nzylv312k4jd1.
Admission to the event is $5 per person or $20 per family, with proceeds supporting both the Marblehead Family Fund’s community projects and the Marblehead Museum’s educational programs. This collaboration continues to bring families together and provide enriching experiences for the Marblehead community.
Whether you’re showcasing your pumpkin artistry or simply want to enjoy a magical Halloween evening, the Pumpkin Illumination is a must-see event. For more information, contact the Marblehead Museum at (781) 631-1768 or email info@marbleheadmuseum.org.
