LTTE: To Norm Fest success: VFW Post 2005 event honors Todd Norman

June 25, 2025 by To The Editor

To the editor:

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who planned, participated, and supported the “To Norm Fest” to benefit the Todd Norman Scholarship Fund held at VFW Post 2005 on 14 June.

Everyone who was involved in this event brought a tremendous level of Energy, Dedication, and love that definitely showed what “Teamwork” is all about for a “Special Day for a Special Man”. All of you played a very important part of the day, and making this happen. So here we go, everyone. If I have overlooked anyone, I apologize in advance.

The Planning Committee: Benedetta McDermott, Bobby Donovan, Brandon Miller, Claudette Mason, Glenn Weymann, Kevin Rocket, Lisa Hull, Mike Hull. Marblehead Graphics Inc., Mackay Plumbing, and Heating, for their very generous donation of operations support. Bobby Donnovan and his “A Team” for trailer stage set up and breakdown, Mike Hull, and Glenn Weymann for all the electrical support work for the event. Brian Wheeler for Saturday Morning “Weather Tarp Support”. Bobby Donnovan’s “World Famous Grill Trailer” (You have to see this trailer) with all the proceeds donated to the Scholarship Fund. Terry’s Ice Cream with their generous donation to the event. KC Catering for an outstanding menu (As Always) with all proceeds donated to the Scholarship Fund, Gus Percy and Friends with an outstanding (As Usual) music performance, DJ and Master of Ceremonies Mark (Always Awesome) Ferrante, “Brendon and Nick” for their afternoon performance in “The Bunker Bar” Yes, the Post wants you back to play a gig. Ricky Broughton and Brian Wear for their “Awesome as Always” evening performance in “The Bunker Bar”. All VFW Support Staff to include Manager Ed Preble, Kim Hall, “Smitty”, Corey, Jim Shay, Hooper Goodwin, and everyone at W.H. Goodwin Enterprises, for their operations support.

ALL of our Neighbors of VFW Post 2005 for allowing us to hold this outdoor afternoon event.

All of the donations for the silent auction items to include Patriots Tickets, Red Sox Tickets, Tedesco Golf Foursome, MDH Mailbox, Sunset Cruise, Three Cod Tavern, Shubies etc., etc.

The Marblehead Girls Softball Team, both present and past members taking part and supporting the event.

The People of Marblehead and beyond who turned out to support this incredible day and evening for a scholarship named for an incredible man, who did so much for our community, and the youth in it. One story that really stood out to me was one young family who was there, they did not know Todd personally but “everything on social media and everything published in the Marblehead Weekly newspaper,” really showed them how good of a man he was, and they wanted to both support the event and show their kids what community is all about.

Most certainly not least, the Norman Family, for once again allowing us at VFW Post 2005 to host this event, put together as you can see from above, with an incredible group of people with both passion, dedication, and love. I can say again, without question, we were honored to host this event again at VFW Post 2005. Planning has already begun for next year because this dedicated group wants to do it Bigger, and Better “For Todd.”

Most Respectively and Sincerely

Ronny Knight
