BOSTON — On a Monday that included the 250th anniversary of Patriots’ Day, 129th Boston Marathon, and a Red Sox win, it was a big day for the City of Boston.
It was also a big day for Marblehead, which saw 28 runners enter the race. The town’s top runner was Scott Snyder, who completed the Marathon in 02:55:24 – good for No. 3,337 overall out of 32,080 entries.
Former MHS cross country Coach Kylynn McKinley (03:04:18) led the female pack from Marblehead, followed by Kristin Gendron (03:04:46) and Bethany Zanrucha (03:10:38). Ross Patterson clocked out with a strong time of 03:13:56.
The youngest Marbleheader was 20-year-old Tyler Callahan (03:42:01), while the oldest was 65-year-old Sally Reiley (03:31:42).
Thomas Smith (08:08:30), who has suffered three paralyzing spinal cord injuries and recovered all three times, completed his seventh Boston Marathon.
