March to Burial Hill in honor of General John Glover

The members of Glover’s Regiment commemorated the life of General John Glover in their annual march to Burial Hill. General Glover died on Jan. 30, 1797, and is entombed at Burial Hill.
The commander of the regiment, Captain Seamus Daly delivered an oration remembering General Glover’s service to the country, state, and town. Following the oration, members of the regiment rendered honors by firing three musket volleys and marched back to the Old Town House.
Members of the public and re-enactors were invited to join the regiment as they marched under lantern light and drumbeat from the Old Town House on Washington Street, Marblehead to General Glover’s tomb.
