Two emerging New England performers, Erin Ash Sullivan and Sam Robbins, will share their songs, stories, and connections at the Me&Thee on Friday, Nov. 8, at 8 p.m. in an evening of new music.
Erin Ash Sullivan’s repertoire reflects a deep sense of place, with lyrics that are sometimes heartfelt, sometimes humorous, but always authentic and rooted in lived experience, using storytelling to foster connection. The Worcester Telegram & Gazette describes Sullivan’s music as “delicate and evocative,” with songs full of “nuance and emotional resonance.” She was a “Most Wanted” selection at the Grassy Hill Emerging Artist Showcase at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.
Sam Robbins is often described as an “old soul singer-songwriter.” A Nashville-based musician originally from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, his music evokes classic ’70s artists like James Taylor and Neil Young, while adding a modern, upbeat twist to the troubadour persona. He was a winner in the Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk competition, one of the country’s largest and most prestigious songwriting contests.
Since moving to Nashville in 2019 after graduating from Berklee College of Music, Robbins has gained traction in Music City. Highlights include performing at the Bluebird Cafe and winning the “Nashville Rising Song” event in 2020. His second album, Bigger Than in Between, was recently released.
