David Andrews, a center for the New England Patriots and former Georgia Bulldog, posted a video in support of Marblehead’s Fund the Field initiative. According to the fundraising organization, “After 10 years of meticulous maintenance, the turf at Piper field reached the end of its lifespan and needs to be replaced to meet safety and industry standards.” Andrews also dropped off an autographed Patriots jersey (60) to be worn by a lucky participant at the Kids Races and 5K walk/run on Oct. 21. “I just want to encourage everyone in joining me and donating to Fund The Field for Marblehead. We appreciate all your support, and go Pats,” Andrews said.
