Police Logs: Sept. 3 – 9

Wednesday, Sept. 3

Complaints

At 9:17 a.m., officers responded to Ocean Avenue for a general complaint from a resident. The responding officer investigated the matter and filed a report for documentation. At 12:44 p.m., police were dispatched to Weston Road for another general complaint. After evaluating the situation, no further action was deemed necessary.

Disturbances

At 6:50 a.m., three units were dispatched simultaneously to the area of Pleasant Street and Mohawk Road following a disturbance involving individuals known as Granese 1, 2, and 3. Officers Fratini, Morley, and Peralta arrived on scene. After assessment, no further action was required.

Follow-Up

At 10:18 a.m., officers provided fingerprinting services during a follow-up at a residence on Sargent Road. The request was fulfilled without issue and documented accordingly.

Found/Lost Property

At 10:32 a.m., a resident on Prospect Street turned in a found item to police. Officers collected the item, confirmed it was not associated with an active crime, and logged it for safekeeping. At 7:34 p.m., a second found property report was received from Village Street. Officers took custody of the item and recorded it in their system.

Hang-Ups

At 8:50 a.m., a 911 hang-up was reported from a residence on Susan Road. Officers responded to the scene, verified that there was no emergency, and cleared the call. At 1:11 p.m., a second hang-up was reported from Elmwood Road. Officers confirmed no emergency was present. At 8:15 p.m., police were sent to Gallison Avenue for another 911 hang-up call. Two officers responded and confirmed the call was accidental. At 10:34 p.m., the final hang-up of the day was logged on Village Street. The area was checked and found secure.

Larceny/Forgery/Fraud

At 9:16 a.m., officers responded to Doaks Lane following a report of fraud. The matter was investigated, and appropriate services were rendered to the reporting party. At 10:52 a.m., a second fraud incident was reported from Atlantic Avenue. Officers investigated the situation and took appropriate action. At 1:53 p.m., a report of larceny was received from Pequot Road. A report was taken by the responding officer for further follow-up. At 3:53 p.m., officers were called to Haley Road for another larceny complaint. Services were rendered, but no report was filed. A fifth and final fraud-related call came at 3:59 p.m. from Columbia Road. A report was taken to document the incident for further investigation.

Motor Vehicles

At 7:24 a.m., a scooter collided with the side of a motor vehicle at the intersection of Bessom Street and Anderson Street. Police, fire, and EMS responded to the scene. The incident was investigated, and an accident report was filed. At 8:05 a.m., a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle outside a business on Tedesco Street. Officers and emergency responders provided immediate aid, and the individual was transported to the hospital. At 10:30 a.m., police responded to Lafayette Street for a report of a disabled vehicle. The vehicle was safely removed from the roadway, and no further issues were reported.

At 12:57 p.m., a motor vehicle stop was conducted on Tedesco Street. The driver was issued a verbal warning for a traffic violation. At 1:17 p.m., another stop was made at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Prospect Street. The driver was also given a verbal warning. At 4:43 p.m., a third stop took place on Atlantic Avenue, and a warning was issued to the driver.

Other Services

At 6:50 a.m., officers were stationed on Atlantic Avenue as part of a coordinated traffic assignment referred to as RJ Devereaux Atlantic 1, 2, and 3. Officers Adkerson, Bates, and Conrad provided support, and services were rendered without incident. At 7:28 a.m. and again at 7:50 a.m., officers performed grid assignments on Rolleston Road and Gerry Street respectively, providing presence and traffic control as needed. At 7:55 a.m., an officer responded to Naugus Avenue for a call involving the water department. No further action was required. At 8:20 a.m., police were on scene near Ocean Avenue and Desmoulin Lane to assist with a Verizon-related issue. Officers ensured the area remained safe during the work. At 4:42 p.m., officers were dispatched to Sparhawk Terrace and Naugus Avenue for a report of fire hydrants running. Officers arrived and provided services as needed. At 5:50 p.m., officers provided security for the JCC Speaker Series event on Community Road. Their presence helped ensure the event ran smoothly.

Property Checks

Throughout the day, officers performed multiple routine property checks. At 8:43 a.m., a check was conducted at a property on Community Road. At 8:47 a.m., a second property check took place on Atlantic Avenue. The final check occurred at 10 p.m. on Lighthouse Lane. All locations were secure with no signs of forced entry or suspicious activity.

 

Thursday, Sept. 4

Alarms

At 1:38 a.m., a burglar alarm was triggered on Baldwin Road. Officers responded and determined it was a false alarm. No suspicious activity was found at the scene. Later, at 5:42 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Widger Road. Again, no breach was detected and the scene was secure. At 10:33 p.m., another burglar alarm was reported on Baldwin Road. Officers checked the property and confirmed the building was secure.

Annoying Phone Calls

At 9:01 a.m., a resident on Longview Drive reported receiving unwanted phone calls. Officers provided assistance and logged the matter accordingly.

Assist Other Agencies

At 2:29 a.m., Marblehead officers assisted another agency on Lafayette Street, providing support in coordination with additional units. Later at 1:29 p.m., officers also responded to Ruby Avenue to assist another agency. Services were rendered at the scene without issue.

Complaints

At 7:29 a.m., a general complaint was reported near Humphrey Street and Maple Street. Officers responded and handled the issue. At 10:04 a.m., another complaint came from Ocean Avenue. Officers addressed the concern. Then at 10:13 a.m., a call on Pleasant Street prompted a police response with two officers assisting. A follow-up disturbance report at 10:14 a.m. on the same street was merged into the previous entry. At 12:21 p.m., officers responded to another complaint near Pleasant and Village Streets and provided services as needed.

Disturbances

At 10:14 a.m., officers addressed a disturbance on Pleasant Street. The incident was handled in conjunction with a previous complaint at that location and was documented accordingly.

Found Property

At 11:27 a.m., an item was found near Pleasant and Cross streets. The property was turned over to police, who attempted to identify the owner.

General Information

At 8:21 a.m., officers received general information regarding activity near Baldwin Road and Cornell Road. The information was referred to the appropriate agency for follow-up.

Hang-Ups

At 5:08 p.m., a 911 hang-up call came from Atlantic Avenue. Officers responded and confirmed there was no emergency.

Motor Vehicles

Throughout the overnight hours, several property checks were performed. At 12:24 a.m., Stramski Way was patrolled without issue. At 1 a.m., officers conducted another property check on Atlantic Avenue and confirmed the building was secure. Later, at 10:09 p.m., another area near Lighthouse Lane was checked, with no suspicious activity found.

At 2:53 p.m., a serious crash involving multiple vehicles occurred at Atlantic Avenue and Phillips Street. Officers responded along with Marblehead Fire and EMS. One person was transported to the hospital. A crash report was filed and the incident was documented.

Other Services

At 6:50 a.m., police supported Granese operations at multiple locations: Pleasant Street and Prospect Street, Pleasant Street and Mohawk Road, and three separate positions on Atlantic Avenue. Officers also assisted with MMLD utility services on Jersey Street at 7:47 a.m., and Verizon personnel on Pleasant Street at 8:20 a.m. At 7:50 a.m., additional traffic control was provided on Gerry Street at two separate intersections with Pleasant and Atlantic.

Town Bylaw

At 8:17 a.m., officers responded to a Prospect Street property for a non-criminal town bylaw issue. The matter was resolved at the scene.

Tree/Branch Down

At 1:05 p.m., a downed tree limb at the intersection of Devereux Street and Treat Road was reported to the proper agency for cleanup.

 

Friday, Sept. 5

Alarms

At 2:26 a.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm triggered at a residence on Baldwin Road. Upon arrival, officers checked the property and confirmed it was a false alarm. Later in the morning at 10:15 a.m., another burglar alarm went off at a home on Broadmere Way. Police and fire units responded and determined there was no emergency. A third alarm was investigated at 4:20 p.m. at Glover Square, where responding officers confirmed the building was secure.

Assist Other Agencies

At 12:03 p.m., Marblehead officers assisted another agency with a matter on Willow Road. Coordination with the outside department was successful, and services were rendered without issue.

Complaints

At 9:43 a.m., police were called to Commercial Street to respond to a general complaint from a resident. Officers investigated the matter and filed a report. At 2:55 p.m., officers returned to Willow Road for another complaint. The situation was resolved without further incident, and the matter was documented appropriately.

Follow-Up / Restraining Orders

At 1:25 p.m., police attempted to serve a restraining order to a party at Commercial Street. Officers reported services rendered. At 2:56 p.m., a follow-up visit was made to Seaview Avenue, where another restraining order service was attempted and completed.

Found Property

At 3:18 p.m., police received a report of found property on Village Street. Officers collected the item, entered it into evidence, and initiated efforts to return it to its rightful owner.

General Information

At 2:28 p.m., general information was logged regarding an interaction on Washington Street. No action was required, but the encounter was documented for future reference.

Hang-Ups

At 1:22 p.m., a 911 hang-up call was received from a residence on Heritage Way. Officers responded to the scene to ensure there was no emergency. After checking the premises, it was determined there was no cause for concern.

Larceny/Fraud

At 9 a.m., officers were dispatched to a business on Atlantic Avenue after a report of a fraud-related incident. Police gathered details and rendered services. A report was filed for further investigation.

Motor Vehicles

At 1 a.m., officers performed a property check on Atlantic Avenue and found the location secure. A similar property check was conducted one minute later on Community Road, with no issues found. At 8:43 a.m., officers returned to Community Road for another inspection. Later that morning at 10:44 a.m. and again at 10:47 a.m., properties on Community Road and Atlantic Avenue were rechecked with no suspicious activity noted. At 8:35 p.m., officers completed an additional inspection on Atlantic Avenue, confirming the building was secured.

At 10:32 a.m., a motor vehicle crash was reported near Pleasant Street. Police responded and conducted an investigation at the scene. The incident was documented accordingly. At 12:30 p.m., a driver on Atlantic Avenue was reported for a moving violation. Officers located the vehicle and addressed the complaint. At 2:49 p.m., a vehicle was stopped near Mohawk Road for a traffic infraction. The driver was issued a verbal warning. Later that evening, three additional traffic stops were conducted: at 9:40 p.m. near Lafayette and Maple streets; at 10:53 p.m. near Lafayette and Birch streets; and at 11:16 p.m. back near Lafayette and Maple. In all three cases, officers issued verbal warnings after routine checks.

Notary Services

At 6:22 p.m., an individual visited the Gerry Street station to request notary services. Officers provided assistance and completed the notarial task as requested.

Out of Town

At 9:34 a.m., a 911 call originating from Cushman Avenue in Revere was received by Marblehead dispatchers. The call was transferred to the appropriate agency for response.

 

Saturday, Sept. 6

Alarms

At 9:14 a.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm at a business on Humphrey Street. After checking the premises, they determined it was a false alarm and that there were no signs of forced entry or suspicious activity. At 3:33 p.m., another burglar alarm was reported at a property on Lime Street. Police checked the location and found everything secure. Later that evening, at 7:53 p.m., a third alarm was triggered on Ocean Avenue. After a sweep of the premises, police again concluded it was a false alarm and cleared the scene.

Complaints

At 11:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to Washington Street near one of the local businesses following a general complaint. Police addressed the issue and ensured there was no ongoing disturbance.

Hang-Ups

At 10:59 a.m., a 911 hang-up call was received from a location on Pleasant Street. Officers responded promptly and confirmed that there was no emergency. The call was determined to be accidental, and the scene was cleared.

Larceny/Forgery/Fraud

At 10:09 a.m., a report of fraud was filed from a residence on Jersey Street. Later that day, at 12:41 p.m., another report of suspected fraud was taken from Fuller Lane. Shortly thereafter, at 12:45 p.m., officers responded to a similar situation on Endicott Avenue. All three incidents are under investigation.

Motor Vehicles

At 9:19 a.m., a driver was pulled over on Pleasant Street near a local business. The officer issued a verbal warning and allowed the driver to continue. At 1:07 p.m., another traffic stop occurred at the intersection of Humphrey Street and Ralph Road. This driver also received a verbal warning for a minor infraction.

Property Checks

Throughout the day, officers conducted routine property checks across town. At 11:31 a.m., a check was performed on Atlantic Avenue, with no issues found. At 8:59 p.m., another inspection took place on Community Road, and again everything was secure. Officers followed up with additional checks at 9:02 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue and at 9:13 p.m. near Community Road, confirming all properties were in good condition with no signs of disturbance.

Utilities

At 7:13 p.m., police were called to West Shore Drive in response to an issue involving utilities. Officers investigated the situation and coordinated with the appropriate departments. The matter was resolved without further complication.

 

Sunday, Sept. 7

Be On The Lookout

At 6:56 a.m., Marblehead officers assisted with a “Be On The Lookout” (BOLO) alert on Peabody Street in Salem. Police remained vigilant for the described individual or vehicle but no further action was required once the matter was resolved.

Boat Complaints

At 7:25 p.m., officers investigated a report of a boat-related complaint in Salem Harbor. Upon arrival, they assessed the situation and found no violations or disturbances. The scene was cleared without incident.

Building Checks

At 6:28 a.m., police conducted a routine security check at a property on Atlantic Avenue and confirmed the building was properly secured. Officers then performed a series of checks at multiple properties on Community Road between 6:32 and 6:37 a.m., confirming that each location — specifically [MAR 266], [MAR 267], and [MAR 265] — was found locked and secure.

Details

At 8:20 a.m., a police detail was assigned to Atlantic Avenue. Officer Sean Brady was present to oversee and provide public safety support during an event or work detail in that area.

Motor Vehicles

At 11:38 a.m., officers responded to a moving motor vehicle complaint near the intersection of Devereux Street and Smith Street. Upon arrival, they identified and documented the vehicle in question. A report was taken for further review.

Public Works and Utilities

At 9:17 a.m., officers were notified of a public utility issue at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Atlantic Avenue. Police responded to assess the matter and relayed the appropriate information to public works or utility departments. Later in the day, at 5:05 p.m., police were again called to assist with a separate utility issue near Spring Street and Elm Street.

Tree/Branch Hazards

At 4:51 p.m., police and Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a tree branch down on electrical wires near Atlantic Avenue and Gerald Road. Engine 1 arrived to assist with the hazard. Officers remained on scene until it was deemed safe and the area was secured.

 

Monday, Sept. 8

911 Hang-Ups

At 10:09 p.m., a 911 hang-up call was received from the area of Pond Street. Officers responded to investigate and were able to determine that no emergency was present at the location.

Alarms

At 12:23 a.m., police conducted a property check at Stramski Way after an alarm-related concern. The area was found secure and services were rendered. At 12:24 a.m., another property check followed at West Shore Drive with similar findings—no issues noted. Officers later checked multiple buildings at Village Street and Stramski Way again at 12:36 a.m. and 1:01 a.m., confirming that all were secured. A final building check was logged at Pleasant Street at 5:30 a.m., with no concerns observed.

Assist Other Agencies

Beginning at 6:50 a.m., multiple units assisted in morning school-related traffic and safety assignments. Units were positioned at Pleasant Street and Mohawk Road, Prospect Street, and Atlantic Avenue, coordinating with various schools and public works. No action was required in one of the assigned locations, but the rest were rendered with services provided to ensure a safe commute for students and staff.

Complaints

At 8:52 a.m., officers responded to a general complaint on Washington Street. The situation was investigated, and appropriate steps were taken. Later, at 10:29 a.m., police were dispatched to Rowland Street for another general complaint. After arriving on scene, officers documented the matter and filed a report for recordkeeping.

Inspections

At 1:01 p.m., a scheduled inspection was carried out at a residence on Gregory Street. The inspection was completed without issue, and services were rendered accordingly.

Larceny/Forgery/Fraud

At 8:13 p.m., officers responded to a report of larceny on Humphrey Street. The incident involved suspected fraudulent activity. Two officers investigated the matter thoroughly and filed a formal report for follow-up action.

Motor Vehicles

At 9:33 a.m., a moving motor vehicle complaint was called in from Pleasant Street. Officers responded to the area, located the vehicle in question, and addressed the concern. At 10:03 a.m., a crash was reported near Gerry Street. Officers arrived promptly and facilitated an exchange of information, rendering assistance to all involved. At 12:24 p.m., police initiated a traffic stop at Leggs Hill Road and Londonderry Road. The driver was cited for a violation.

Property Checks

Throughout the day, numerous property and building checks were conducted. These included checks at Intrepid Circle at 7:33 a.m., Atlantic Avenue at both 9:40 a.m. and 6:34 p.m., Community Road at 11:33 a.m. and again at 6:35 p.m., and West Shore Drive at 9:56 p.m. All properties were found secure, and no suspicious activity was noted.

Unfounded

At 10:54 a.m., an automated 911 call triggered a dispatch to Dock Ledge Way. Officers investigated and determined that there was no fall or emergency; the call was deemed unfounded.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 9

Alarms

At 5:53 p.m., a burglar alarm was triggered at a residence on Bayview Road. Officers responded promptly and determined it was a false alarm. The scene was secure, and no evidence of unauthorized entry was found.

Assist Other Agencies

Just after midnight at 12:44 a.m., Marblehead officers responded to Arbutus Street in Swampscott to assist Swampscott police with a sensitive incident. Officers remained on site to offer additional support and ensure the scene remained secure.

Hang-Ups

At 10:19 a.m., a 911 hang-up was received from a home on Gerald Road. Officers investigated the call and determined there was no emergency at the residence.

Motor Vehicles

At 7:42 a.m., a two-car crash occurred on Eisenhower Road. Officers responded to the scene, assessed the situation, and completed a full crash report. No serious injuries were reported. At 10:53 a.m., a driver was stopped for a traffic violation on Pleasant Street and issued a verbal warning. A more serious crash took place at 10:58 a.m. on Leggs Hill Road. Officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel responded. Both vehicles involved sustained damage, and one required medical attention. A full report was taken by responding officers. Later that night at 11:40 p.m., a motor vehicle was reported operating erratically near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Seaview Avenue. Officers investigated the complaint and ensured there was no continuing hazard.

Property Checks

Multiple property checks were conducted throughout the day. At 12:48 a.m., officers checked Stramski Way and found the property secure. Additional checks were logged at 8:50 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at a location on Atlantic Avenue. At 10:27 a.m., officers checked Community Road and again at 7:07 p.m. with no issues found. Another evening check was performed at 7:09 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue. All locations were found to be secure with no suspicious activity noted.

Vandalism

At 5:11 p.m., officers responded to Pleasant Street for a report of vandalism. After speaking with the reporting party and surveying the area, officers filed a report and documented the incident for follow-up investigation.
