You know what I’ve been thinking? The Marblehead golf team is 3-0, and doing it in style against Peabody, St. Mary’s, and Danvers.
In match one of the season against Peabody, 44-28, six players won their matchups (Charlie Grenier, Simon Quicken, Jacob Hershfield, Marty Ryan, James Bickell, Toby Grenier). Charlie Grenier led the way with a 36, and what a start it was for the golf squad.
Two days later, the Magicians cast a spell on St. Mary’s in a 196-182 victory. Matt Mahan led the way with a 35 (career-best 1-under par). Charlie Grenier impressed with a 38, also.
To top off the week on Tuesday, five Magicians won their matchups in a 44-28 win over Danvers. Those players were Quicken, Hershfield, Bickell, Mahan, and Toby Grenier.
Coach Bob Green and company certainly have something brewing with the golf team, which returns to action Thursday against Winthrop at Tedesco.
