While the election has not yet been certified, the votes are in. Here is what the voters decided Tuesday.

  • For the sole Select Board seat up for grabs, Jim Zisson received 67% of the votes against Yael Magen.
  • Incumbent Jack Attridge ran unopposed for the moderator race.
  • For town clerk, incumbent Robin Michaud received 54% of the votes, while Terri Tauro received 32% and Melissa Flanagan received 14%.
  • Michael Cannuscio ran unopposed for the assessor race.
  • The Cemetery Commission’s first seat went to Gerald Tucker Jr., who got 63% of the vote against Rose McCarthy. Its one year unexpired term seat went to David Meyers, who ran unopposed, and the two year unexpired term seat went to David Rodgers, who ran unopposed.
  • Amanda Ritvo won the Board of Health seat against Kim Crowley with 67% of the votes.
  • Incumbent Terri Tauro ran unopposed and kept her position on the Housing Authority Board.
  • Marjorie Norman and Kathleen Waslov were the only two on the ballot for the two Abbot Public Library trustee positions and therefore earned those seats.
  • For the first Light Commission race, incumbents Jean-Jacques Yarmoff and Mike Hull kept their seats, as they were the only two up for those two seats. For the one year unexpired term on the Light Commission, Matthew Harrington ran unopposed.
  • Incumbent Ed Nilsson kept his seat on the Planning Board with 58% of the vote against Timothy Swigor.
  • The Recreation & Parks Commission had five seats available – just enough for its five candidates: Larry Simpson, Christopher Kennedy and incumbents Shelly Bedrossian, Karin Ernst and Rossana Ferrante.
  • There were two seats up for grabs on the School Committee, and they went to Kate Schmeckpeper and Henry Gwazda, who received 39% and 36% of votes, respectively. Emily DeJoy received 13% of the votes, and incumbents Alison Taylor and Sarah Fox received 6% and 5%, respectively.
  • For the Water & Sewer Commission’s first race, there were two seats up for grabs and only two candidates, James Maher and Thomas Murray, and Gregory Burt ran unopposed for the one year unexpired term.
  • The first override, which is for the Mary Alley building renovation, passed with 65% in favor. The second override, which is for the school roof and HVAC project, passed with 74% in favor.
