Marblehead’s boys lacrosse team (4-4) had itself a two-game week against Masconomet and Salem. The Magicians dropped one to the Chieftains — an overtime heartbreaker — but bounced back with a dominant performance against Salem.
Masconomet squeezed out an 11-10 victory in Marblehead. Leading the Magicians were Will Sullivan (5 goals, assist), who continued his season-long tear, Reece Moore (2 goals, assist), and Tyler Forbes (goal, 2 assists). Colin Maniaci made 13 saves between the pipes.
Days later, against the Witches, Marblehead exploded offensively en route to a 17-1 triumph. Three Magicians โ Moore (4 goals), Sullivan, and James Achterhof โ ripped hat tricks. Ten Marblehead players scored, while Maniaci saved all three shots sent his way before subbing out.
As of Tuesday morning’s MIAA power rankings, the Magicians checked in at No. 17 in Division 2.
The Red and Black return to action Thursday in a home game against Beverly. Opening face-off is set for 4:30 p.m.
