March 24, 7:30 p.m. Old North Festival Chorus Presents: Requiem
Members of the Old North Senior Choir and Old North Festival Chorus are currently rehearsing a truly glorious program featuring Requiem in C minor, by Michael Haydn (Franz Joseph Haydn’s brother), as well a new composition titled Fermata, by Dan Forrest. Our performance takes place on Palm Sunday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of Old North.
March 27, 6:30 – 8 p.m. Local Solutions for Biodiversity Loss
Abbot Public Library and Sustainable Marblehead invite the community to attend a talk about the importance of native plants and pollinators and their connection to biodiversity. Speaker Peggy MacLeod will explore community strategies for reversing the critical loss of biodiversity in order to create a more resilient future. MacLeod will describe how adopting a biodiversity mindset can provide four seasons of beauty, sustain a wide range of native wildlife habitats, offer greater hope for the future and lead to a deeper connection with nature. Learn about a movement across Massachusetts to build pollinator pathways that expand habitat using important native trees, shrubs and plants.
March 28, 6:30 p.m.- Marblehead Museum Annual Meeting
The museum will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. You’ll hear updates on last year’s achievements as well as plans for 2024 and beyond. The meeting will be followed at 7 p.m. by a talk from Christa Beranek, from the Fiske Center for Archaeology at UMass Boston. She’ll reveal the results of the 2023 archaeological dig at the Lee Mansion. The annual meeting is free, but registration is required. Meeting can be attended in person or on Zoom.
March 30, 8 – 11:30 p.m. – Marblehead VFW Fundraiser with The Guy Ford Band
Join the Marblehead VFW Fundraiser on Saturday, March 30 with The Guy Ford Band. This event is supporting Company 2 Heroes providing service dogs to PTSD Veterans. Public is invited and it’s FREE to Attend. Donations Are Welcome. Location: 321 West Shore Drive.
