INTERVIEWED: Daniel McEachern of Daniel M. Jewelry, a new jeweler at 231 Washington St.
LISTENING: Anything except country music. Listen to the indie channel in the store — it’s definitely appropriate on all accounts (clean and upbeat).
WATCHING: NHL playoffs right now. My wife and I did just watch a series on Netflix — “Eric,” a mystery about a guy whose son gets kidnapped. I also love to watch anything alien-related!
READING: Not reading a single book. I read the local papers, just really stay local.
SOMETHING PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU OR YOUR CAREER: I’ve been doing this my whole life (being a part of the jewelry industry) starting when I was 13 years old.
I got a working permit to be on the payroll at Ross Simon Jewelers. Had a brief interruption with a stint in computers (as a network administrator for an engineering company). It was in the DOT-COM era.
I knew right away I did not like that, and quickly returned to the jewelry industry.
WHAT YOU ENJOY ABOUT MARBLEHEAD: What’s not to like?! Love coaching hockey. Love this town, the beaches, the people. I feel in this store that the people are like friends — I didn’t realize it would be like that.
WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE: Potholes, traffic. Seems like they’re working on it but it’s a constant disruption. I really like this town — and I would love to see a multi-sport facility here.
