The Marblehead Arts Association (MAA) is excited to host a travelling exhibit from the Blue Mountain Gallery in New York City titled Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water from Aug. 10 to Sept. 22.
This exhibit marks the first time the Marblehead Arts Association has collaborated with an out-of-state art gallery by providing gallery space for their exhibit in the MAA’s historic King Hooper Mansion. “Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water” will be in the mansion’s third-floor Ballroom Gallery.
Blue Mountain Gallery has been continuously operating in New York City by artist members since its inception in January 1980. Showcasing a range of ideas since its founding in SoHo, the gallery is in Manhattan’s Chelsea Arts District. Over the last 30 years, Blue Mountain Gallery has provided artists with a gathering place of ideas where painters can communicate visually and verbally and find the support and inspiration of their peers. The gallery’s longevity in the ever-changing and chaotic world of New York galleries is witness to its value and to the loyal dedication of its members.
The MAA’s King Hooper Mansion is currently open and free to the public. “Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water” will run alongside the MAA’s Late Summer Exhibits from Aug. 10 to Sept. 22, 2024, and will be available for viewing Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
The artwork will be available for online viewing on the MAA website, www.marbleheadarts.org.
Individual works can also be seen on the Blue Mountain Gallery website, www.bluemountaingallery.org/earth-air-wind-fire, along with information about each artist featured in the show.
To arrange a private appointment to view the exhibits and for more information, please contact the MAA’s director of operations, Xhazzie Kindle, at xhazzie@marbleheadarts.org.
