The Marblehead Co-Ed Pickleball League’s inaugural season is off to a hot start, featuring six weeks, four teams, and 84 players.
The league, for Marblehead residents only, completed its first week. The Red Hotshots are captained by Anne Tasell and Jackie Polimeni, while Kate Dinsmore and Lisa Spinale are captains of the Green Monstahs. Blue Steel is captained by Scott Degrossiers and Tony Mongiello, while Alice Moynihan and Tracy McClure take command of Purple Reign.
Week 1 is in the books, with Blue Steel capturing first place and the Hotshots following in second.
Games are played every Monday and Tuesday at the Veterans School Pickleball Courts beginning at 4 p.m. Spectators are welcome.
“Pickleball in Marblehead is inclusive, inexpensive, multi-generational, and an easy learning curve,” said General Manager Spinale. “We have the most dedicated municipal court still in Massachusetts.”
