The Marblehead Arts Association held its FUNdraiser event, featuring a night of food, art, comedy, and a silent auction.
Upon entering the Marblehead Arts Association in the historic Hooper Mansion, guests were greeted on the left by a room offering canapés, crackers, various cheeses, and crudités such as celery, carrots, and cucumbers.
The fun didn’t stop there. Just down the hall was the silent auction.
Gift cards from local businesses were up for bidding, including a $100 gift card to Siana Aesthetics Medical Spa, a $600 gift card to Total Wine & More, and a $250 gift card to Blick Art Materials.
Xhazzie Kindle, the Marblehead Arts Association’s director of operations, said the association is committed to giving back to the community.
“We like to be able to allow other nonprofits to use the building,” Kindle said, adding that the fundraiser helps facilitate that.
“In order for us to do that, we need to find our own sponsors and do our own fundraising so we can give back,” she said.
Kindle said this was the association’s first fundraiser in about a year and a half. She called it an opportunity for community engagement.
“Having events like this and being able to engage with our members and donors, and just remind them that we’re still here — that’s the value of these kinds of things,” Kindle said.
She also noted that the association’s fundraising activities support its many offerings, including monthly jazz and classical music concerts.
Capping off the evening was a performance by North Shore improv troupe Accidentally On Purpose, which brought laughs to the crowd.
