All are invited to join an evening of community and laughter at the Gerry 5 on 210 Beacon St. in Marblehead on Friday, Sept, 27. Event emcee, Mark Scalia, will be joined by stand-up comedians Kathe Farris, and event headliner, Kelly MacFarland. The event benefits the Marblehead Counseling Center. Tickets are on sale via Eventbrite.
Comedian and emcee Mark Scalia has entertained thousands of audiences across the US and Canada, from comedy clubs to corporate, collegiate and private events. Originally from Boston, this International Headliner is in demand as a stand-up comedian, working actor who features in commercials, television, films and documentaries, as well as host and emcee. A crowd favorite, he brings audiences in by being funny, clever, personable and warm. Scalia is also the founder of the Salem Comedy & Spirits Festival in Salem, MA, a sell-out annual event that brings in up and coming comics from all over the US.
Headliner comedian Kelly MacFarland is a stand-up comedian, writer, and actress. She has an extensive resume including comedy clubs, theaters, colleges, festivals, films, television appearances and entertaining US troops overseas. Kelly has appeared on Comedy Central, NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Prime Video, Up Early Tonight on Hulu and Denis Leary’s Comics Come Home. Check out Kelly’s Dry Bar Comedy Special, Sleepytime Baby and she has several comedy albums available on iTunes and SiriusXM. For all things Kelly, visit www.kellymacfarland.com.
Comedian Kathe Farris is a Boston-based stay-at-home mom, stand-up comedian, and snack cake enthusiast. She hit the comedy scene a little late in life with a different point of view and killer material. After becoming a Comic-in-Residence at The Comedy Studio and a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival, she recently released her national debut with a Dry Bar Comedy Special available at drybar special as well as her album “Have you seen this woman” available anywhere you get your music, comedy and podcasts. Her weekly show, Farris and Friends Comedy Hour, even became “The Boston Globe’s Critics Choice.” They didn’t give her a plaque so she made one. (She’ll show you later.) Doors for the event open at 6 and the show starts at 7PM. A cash bar with food and beverages will be available, with an ATM on site.
