To the editor,
I am voting for Yael Magen on June 10 for Select Board. On Saturday, I went to hear her speak on the issues facing our town and how she would handle them.
I was very impressed by her candor, intelligence and demeanor. Her calm, but straight forward communication, and no nonsense philosophy is what our town needs right now. We are at a critical
juncture where we must ask the right questions, take that second look, dig into the why are things the way they are versus “they just are.” She is not timid and is thankfully willing and very capable to step up and serve.
Yael looks at the issues and responds thoughtfully, not hysterically. She will work to ensure we are making the right choices for our town today and for the future. She understands the law and through her work experience has the skill set to understand how towns can operate effectively. She will wade in to understand the complexity of our challenges.
I’ve lived in Marblehead for 37 years, I have seen many changes. I don’t want to see Marblehead lose the fabric of it’s unique character of it’s people or spaces. This character slips away slowly if we the people don’t stick up for what we love about Marblehead. It is a moment to reflect about what you care about-and how to respond. Ask yourself, why did you move to this town? If you grew up in this town, why did you stay here? I believe by voting in Yael, our town will be in a better place than it is today and for the future. Let’s keep Marblehead a self sufficient town versus a sleeping town.
