Community invited to free book exchange and author talk in Marblehead

September 24, 2025 by Chris Carrigan Brolly

There will be a free event to promote reading in the community and local author Jennifer Safrey’s new book on Nov. 8. This family-friendly event takes place at Gingle Lerman Realty Group at 11 Atlantic Ave. in Marblehead.

Safrey’s new book –– “After Happily Ever: An Epic Novel of Midlife Rebellion” –– is a fantasy novel that, according to her, “reimagine(s) your favorite fairy tale heroines.” Safrey’s previous work includes five romance novels and an urban fantasy novel. To learn more about Safrey and her work, visit her website: www.jensafrey.com.

The Fall into Reading event will feature a book exchange where people can come in and pick up some books to read over the winter, free of charge. The event will also have a brief talk from the author, followed by a meet-and-greet and book signing.

There will also be some raffles for a copy of Safrey’s book as well as for gift cards to local book stores. Snacks and hot drinks will be provided.

Event Coordinator Roberta Lerman, a friend of Safrey’s, described the event as a way to promote reading in the community and “give people the opportunity to stock up on some books to curl up with in the winter at no cost.”

People who wish to donate books can take them to the office at 11 Atlantic Ave. before the event. Donations should be dropped off before the event so that the books can be organized and checked for quality. Donating is not required to take home some new books, according to Lerman, but it would be greatly appreciated so everyone has a chance to find something new to enjoy.
