The majority of Adrienne Kelliher’s life has revolved around art. After majoring in it at Saint Mary’s College at Notre Dame, the Marblehead native returned to her region so she can share her passion with students.
After starting teaching at Cobbet Elementary School in Lynn, she went on to teach art to 24 elementary schools in the area. Currently a full-time painter, Kelliher is now being recognized in her hometown as well, where she spent so many years sharing what she loves with students.
Kelliher’s painting of a tulip was recently chosen by the Lynn Community Health Center to be the illustration on their invitation for the Women’s Recognition Breakfast. The event celebrates prominent women in Lynn who head organizations that contribute to positive changes in the community.
In Marblehead, Kelliher’s paintings will be on display at the Stetson Gallery of the Unitarian Universalist Church throughout the entirety of June, with a special reception on June 4 at 12:00 pm. Just as she taught art for many years in school, her paintings now have the potential to teach on their own.
