The Friends of Marblehead Public Schools are gearing up for their annual Summer Soiree, intending to raise $85,000 on June 17.
“The Summer Soiree is our largest fundraising event of the year and is a great way to learn about the organization, listen to live music, and meet other parents and community members in Marblehead. From last year’s Soiree, we were able to fund 14 grants for this upcoming school year,” said the Friends of Marblehead Public Schools President Kate Payne.
The event’s purpose is to raise money to fund enrichment opportunities for Marblehead Public Schools and to thank those who have financially supported the all-volunteer nonprofit organization.
After completing the grant cycle this past April, the Friends of Marblehead Public Schools has funded 14 of the 17 grants submitted, including grants for programmable basic coding bots, a melody garden, positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS), and new camera technology.
“100 percent of the proceeds that we raise go directly to funding programs that enrich and extend the curriculum in all the schools across the district,” Payne said.
The annual event will be held at the home of Rose and Andrew Bentley on 64 Bubier Road from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at https://friendsofmarblehead.org/soiree.
