Marblehead’s Corinthian Yacht Club finished second overall in a field of 20 boats in the New York Yacht Club Invitational Regatta. In the elite competition, members must qualify, which the Corinthian did last fall.
Corinthian’s Pegasus, boat 12 representing the United States, recorded a 54 to capture second place in individual round scores of 11, 17, 1, 10, 1, 8, 3, and 3.
An American boat finished first with the San Diego Yacht Club scoring a 43. Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (3rd), New York Yacht Club (4th), and Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (5th) rounded out the top five.
The seven-day event featuring 14 countries ended Saturday – in its eighth edition – and the Rolex Awards Dinner was held the same day on the lawn of the New York Yacht Club Harbour Court.
