Slavery to Freedom Walking Tour
Join Jarrett Zeman from Marblehead Museum for this new walking tour on the history of slavery and abolitionism in Marblehead. From its earliest days, Marblehead has had close links to slavery. You’ll see sites of local slavery from the 1700s, as well as sites where Black and white abolitionists fought for freedom in the 1800s, from the pulpit and the ballot box to the Underground Railroad. Limit of 20 people per tour.
Wreaths Across America fundraiser
Join Marblehead Veterans of Foreign Wars on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 6-11 p.m. for the Wreaths Across America fundraiser! Not to be missed! There will be live music from Ricky Broughton and the Melody Makers, food, and raffles! Come on out and support this great cause. All are welcome. $20.00 covers the purchase of a wreath to be placed on a veteran’s grave, food, music, and 10 raffle tickets for some incredible prizes donated from some of the best businesses in town! Additional raffle tickets can be purchased as well.
Marblehead Arts Association photography meetup
Member and non-member photographers are invited to the Marblehead Arts Association for an informal meetup of fellow enthusiasts. Guests are encouraged to bring samples of their work if they wish. Learn about techniques, the latest innovations in photography and digital art, and connect with old and new friends. Attendees are welcome to BYOB or a snack to share!
Hope for Haiti educational event
