Kids’ Craft Afternoon

Children of all ages and caregivers can visit the Children’s Room to make a craft to take home. Staff will provide a simple, often seasonal craft each week. Crafting enhances pre-literacy skills through practice in sequencing steps, hand-eye coordination, and more. No registration required.

Happy Feet Story Time

Children ages 5 and under are invited to join a speech therapist from The Power of Speech for an interactive, sensory-friendly story time. Each class offers accommodations that support all learning and interaction styles.
Marisa Spagnolo, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a speech therapist passionate about providing play-based therapy to children of all ages. Space is limited to eight children, and a caregiver must be present.

Rise and Shine Playgroup

Rise and Shine is a mixed-age program perfect for families with children of different ages. This morning gathering offers energizing games, creative crafts, group storytelling, and interactive play, providing a fun, inclusive environment for children to learn, grow, and bond. Making Medicare Easy: Review and Adjust Your Coverage During Medicare Open Enrollment

Medicare Open Enrollment is the time to review and renew your coverage! Scott Maibor of Senior Benefits Boston will lead an informative and engaging educational workshop covering a variety of Medicare topics and anticipated changes for this year, including:
- 2025 Part D changes due to the Inflation Reduction Act
- Understanding Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D
- Navigating Medicare Advantage Plans
- Carrier and Plan Changes
- Medicare Supplement Plans
- Enrollment and Appeals Processes
Take control of your healthcare with this workshop. Registration is required and limited to 35 participants. Per Medicare rules, this is an educational presentation, and no plan-specific information will be shared.

Join Children’s Librarian and Abbot Public Library Director Kimberly Grad for a storytime featuring songs, finger plays, board books, and playtime for our littlest pre-readers! This program is designed for lap-sitting babies 0-12 months old and their caregivers. Online registration is required.
Kimberly Grad is excited to return to one of her favorite library activities! Before moving into library management, she spent several years as a frontline children’s librarian at Brooklyn Public Library and has extensive experience in child development and community engagement.

Weather Crew: A Two-Part Series

Children in grades 4-6 are invited to join the Weather Crew to explore weather forecasting. Students will receive devices to take home for measuring weather in preparation for the next meeting. All equipment will be supplied by the library. Topics will include wind speed, temperature, humidity, rainfall, cloud identification, storm types, and more.
Online registration is required. This is a two-part series; registering for the first session automatically registers you for the second.
