New offerings have arrived at the Farmer’s Market ahead of its third Saturday in operation. From now until Nov. 19, residents can visit the market by heading down Vine Street behind Veterans Middle School.
Fresh new produce residents can expect on July 8 includes zucchini, summer squash, mushrooms, and garlic. The seven contributing farms that comprise the market will each bring a unique product that aligns with their respective specialties. Middle Earth Farm will come with fresh vegetables, Grant Family Farm will be offering fresh eggs and plants, Bear Hill Farm will bring pork, Brookford Farm will offer various meats, cheeses, and cured meats, Clark Farm will have local fruit, Anything Grows (Formerly the Herb Farmacy) will bring cut flowers and herbs, and Cloutman Farm will bring mushrooms to the market.
New non-food attractions include a conservancy and recycling booth staffed by volunteers Steve Butterworth, Mo Ashley, and Pam Roberts. A Celtic Trio will compliment the selection of ingredients with a vocal performance this week. Tom Panniello of National Sharpening will not be present to lend his skills this week, but will return next Saturday, July 15. Returning attractions include Copper Dog Books, food vendors are A&J King Artisan Bakers and Bucovina Cuisines, and Scouts BSA Troop 79 will be brewing coffee and tea. The Farmer’s Market is open Saturdays 9 a.m.-12 p.m., regardless of rain.
