You know what I’ve been thinking? There really isn’t a sport Marblehead’s Connor Cronin doesn’t, well, dominate in. After barreling his way for touchdowns this past fall – he’s headed to Avon Old Farms for football, by the way – Cronin must’ve kept in shape throughout the winter. In boys lacrosse, Cronin has played a key role in Marblehead’s 3-0 start to kick off the spring. Let’s look at this week. This past Thursday against Wakefield, Cronin scored two goals to lead his team to a 7-4 win against a tough Wakefield group – but you haven’t seen anything yet. Fast forward to Monday, and Cronin ripped four goals alongside three assists in another Marblehead victory – this one against Beverly (16-6). Six goals in two games is a feat in and of itself, but what’s more impressive is how he did it. Some were oozing of skill, as Cronin can certainly pick a corner, while others were hard-earned and, frankly, gritty. That said, we’ll see what happens Thursday when Marblehead hosts rival Swampscott at 4 p.m. Will Cronin keep his hot streak going, or will the Big Blue play to their name and hand Marblehead its first loss? Only time will tell, but Connor, good week.
