Typically in this space, we dive farther back into history, but in honor of Marblehead Weekly News turning one this week, it felt apt to look into what exactly was going on in town this time last year.
A heated race for the open 8th Essex District seat was coming down to the wire, with a Democratic primary just weeks away. An override failed at the most recent town election. A new town administrator was settling in. All seemed to be well in Marblehead Public Schools. The Magicians were coming off a title-winning football season.
Much has changed in the last year — both in this paper and in town — but one thing this writer knows for sure is that the Weekly News is showing no signs of slowing down.
