Marblehead's Commonwealth Payroll & HR received a Power Partner Award from Inc. Business Media.

Business of the Week: Commonwealth Payroll & HR receives industry recognition

November 11, 2022 by Rachel Barber

Commonwealth Payroll & HR, a business-to-business service based in Marblehead, received an award honoring organizations with proven track records supporting entrepreneurs and helping startups grow.

Inc. Business Media announced the results of its inaugural Power Partner Awards last week and identified Commonwealth Payroll & HR as a company that provides “game-changing support” for small businesses. The Power Partner Awards exist to recognize the work of business-to-business, or B2B, companies. Inc. Business Media conducted surveys to gather client testimonials as part of their decision making process ahead of distributing the awards. Companies were evaluated on commitment, reliability, trust, creativity, supportiveness, and other offerings to clients.

Commonwealth Payroll & HR Founder and Owner Jeff Plakans of Marblehead said he is honored his company has received the award.

“I couldn’t be prouder to receive this award and a spot on Inc’s list. Inc. describes the award recipients as ‘going the extra mile to provide game-changing support for small businesses’ — that sums up our focus perfectly,” Plakans said in a statement. “A big reason we made the list was the positive feedback Inc. received from our incredible and loyal clients — and that, in turn, stems from the commitment and dedication to our staff.”

Commonwealth Payroll & HR provides administration and customer service support for its clients. The company’s clients gain access to expertise, coaching, and educational resources to help them meet industry standards, be up-to-date technologically, and scale their businesses.

Inc. Business Media editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk said trusted B2B partners, such as Commonwealth Payroll & HR, provide guidance and support that founders rely on throughout their companies journeys.

“Partners that possess a demonstrated ability to deliver quality support are at the core of entrepreneurship and help bring big ideas to life,” Omelianuk said in a statement.
