Business of the Week: Patsy Kane’s Nautical Coastal Jewelry makes for a great stocking stuffer

December 14, 2022 by Alexandra Rodriguez

Inspired by New England, the waves, boats, and Marblehead, Patsy Kane Jewelry is the best stocking stuffer for those who want to stay true to their roots this holiday season.

The strictly handmade, beaded, and braided jewelry aims to stay local with a studio design in Marblehead and production made in Rhode Island.

“We try to stay as much in New England as possible. It’s our way of keeping true to our roots and being authentic, New England-made goods,” said Patsy Kane, jewelry maker, designer, and bookkeeper.

Not only does Kane offer naturally inspired coastal jewelry but she has custom-made earings and bracelets that show the latitude and longitude of a location. The custom line can be personalized with any location a customer would like.

“I’ve had people say, they’ve gotten them from when they got engaged. Where they got married they are great bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts,” said Kate.

The unique line accounts for a quarter of Kate’s business.

But for those in the hunt for less customized items this holiday season, Kate suggests gifting monkey fist earrings that come in 14kt gold or sterling silver and cost of $70. “They are very nautical, very subtle, very chic and with earnings one size fits all,” she said.

“For a lower price point, I would say our true cuff fits the bill because you don’t have to worry about a size,” added Kate.

For a stocking stuffer, Kate would suggest the “I love you bracelets.” She said, “It’s just a very sweet way of saying I love you. They come in 16 colors now and they are $12 so you can get them for a teacher, or you can get them for your best friend. You would want to get it for anybody you want to say, ‘I love you.'”

The nautical jewelry line also offers bracelets for men and very unique pieces including a wire lobster trap necklace. Her line ranges from affordable options from, $12 of the “I love you” bracelets to the most expensive of $230 of a sterling silver “Dori Cuff.”
