Barge fire termed ‘accidental’
The Fourth of July Fireworks and Harbor Illumination were canceled after the fireworks barge caught fire last Thursday. The cause of the barge fire is currently under investigation, but Fire Chief Jason Gilliland said it was an accident. $25,000 raised in memory of a Prince of a guy
Alyssa Prince and Liz Steinfeld raised $25,000 at the Cure By The Harbor benefit for lung-cancer research. Cure By The Harbor was founded to honor the memory of Prince’s husband, Kevin Prince, who died at the age of 44 of an aggressive form of lung cancer that affects nonsmokers. The MH1 Marblehead Buoy was deployed on June 25. The buoy tracks great white sharks that swim within 200 yards of the receiver in order to be recorded. To date, the buoy has reported 21 sightings of great white sharks off the coast of Marblehead. Carolyn Steadman celebrates a century
Carolyn Steadman, who has lived nearly all her life in Marblehead, celebrated her century birthday recently with family and friends.
