The Cottage Gardeners of Marblehead and Swampscott will host their annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 13, (rain or shine) in the parking lot of St. Stephen’s Church (67 Cornell Road, Marblehead) from 9 am to 12:30 pm.

Members contribute perennials from their gardens as well as donate annuals, herbs, vegetable plants, container gardens, garden supplies/décor, and gardening books for the sale. Each plant will be placed to indicate if it grows best in shade, sun, partial sun, etc. Knowledgeable members (with blue aprons) will assist you with any questions you have.

The Plant Sale is the organization’s major fundraiser each year and funds raised will support the maintenance of the King Hooper gardens, Devereux Beach gardens, a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving high school graduate of either Marblehead, Swampscott, or Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School, and a proposed cleanup of the Okos VFA property on Washington Street.

The Cottage Gardeners of Marblehead and Swampscott host a past plant sale.

Members also work with the Edith Dodge Fund preparing cookies and fruit for distribution during the holidays and developed a project to plant daffodils throughout Marblehead. The Cottage Gardeners of Marblehead and Swampscott are members of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts and the National Council of State Garden Clubs (Northeastern District).
