The Marblehead boys came home with some hardware from the Frank Kelley Invitational this past weekend as several Magicians finished in the top 25 of their respective races. In the Freshman/Sophomore 3K Race, Henrik Adams (6th; 10:14) and Will Cruikshank (16th; 10:35) impressed.
In the Junior/Senior 3K Race, Isaac Gross followed up his first place finish at the Ocean State Invitational with another top-of-the-podium finish (9:21). Nate Assa (3rd; 9:47), Will Cerrutti (13th; 10:12), and Ryan Blestowe (15th; 10:12) also ran well.
As for the girls, despite losing her shoe mid-race, Marrietta O’Connell won easily with a bolting time of 10:51.
Against Winthrop at Deer Island on Tuesday, Winthrop didn’t have enough runners for officials to score the meet, but the Marblehead boys (4-0) and Vikings still squared off. The score would have been 15-50 in favor of Marblehead.
Senior captain Will Cronin snagged first place, followed by Gross, Cerrutti, Assa, and Xavier Grazado.

FOOTBALL
St. John’s Prep 41
La Salle Academy 0
Talk about a breeze. Behind running back Jimmy Nardone (53 rushing yards, 2 TDs), the St. John’s Prep Eagles moved to 4-0 after handling La Salle Academy, 41-0, at home on Saturday.
What isn’t a breeze, however, is picking up 75 wins across a career. Prep head coach Brian St. Pierre – who has won three high school Super Bowls (2018, ‘19, ‘22) – did just that with the victory.
Dylan Aliberti (47 rushing yards), Deacon Robillard (9-for-12, 130 yards), Gael Garcia (47 receiving yards), and Lynn’s Edwin Castro (42 receiving yards) all impressed individually.
The Eagles host St. John’s at 6 p.m Friday.
