Me & Thee Music presents fiery dobro player Abbie Gardner on Friday, March 15 for a night of spirited songs and impeccable lap-style slide guitar. With her infectious smile, Gardner presents a wide ranging program of gritty blues, Western swing, healing gospel, pop folk, romantic waltzes, and a few sentimental classics. Whether performing solo or with Americana harmony trio Red Molly, her tales of love and loss, both gritty and sweet, are propelled by her acclaimed slide guitar playing.
Her solo performances feature her dobro, bouncing between a solid rhythmic backbone and ripping lead lines, all in support of her voice and songs. Her latest recording, “DobroSinger,” hit #11 on the Billboard Blues Chart.
Acoustic Guitar Magazine says, “her playing and singing are both impeccable and loaded with personality.” Mike England of Bluegrass Unlimited writes, “Gardner is leaving her mark by trailblazing a new path. She has fused dobro playing, singing, and songwriting into a seamless vehicle of musical expression. If you have never seen Abbie, you owe it to yourself to do so.”
