Old North Church
35 Washington St.
Old North Church is a traditional, vibrant, inclusive, and progressive Christian community.
Now through Labor Day, our weekly summer Lighthouse Worship Services are held outside at Chandler Hovey Park Sunday mornings at 8 a.m. There is something unique and spiritual about gathering in worship where ocean waters meet solid rock and the light shines to guide people safely. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. If it is raining at 8 a.m., the service will be moved to the Old North Church Sanctuary. Look for the sandwich board sign at the Devereux Beach entrance: if green, go to the Lighthouse; if red, the service will be held in the Sanctuary. For those who prefer a traditional Church worship, we will be offering a 10 a.m. contemplative service in our Sanctuary.
The choir is off for the summer, and childcare and Sunday School will resume after Labor Day.
Childcare and Sunday School will resume after Labor Day when our weekly worship services return to the Old North Church Sanctuary. Two services are held in the fall: A contemplative service without music at 8 a.m., and a traditional service with music at 10 a.m. Communion is held the first Sunday of the month, and all are welcome.
We are an Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ. We welcome and embrace the beautiful diversity of all God’s beloved children; we have been welcoming LGBTQ+ people in our church for decades. Wherever you are on life’s spiritual journey, you are welcome at Old North Church.
