A snowball’s throw from the Lynch/Van Otterloo YMCA sits in the neighborhoods of Riverside Drive and Yorkshire Road.
Here, as the holiday season rolls around you’ll find the most wonderful Whovillian scene of all, with Christmas lights spiraling through trees, wreaths neatly lining houses, and decorations galore.
My dad has been taking me to this street since I was a little kid and it has always blown me away. I remember wiping away at the fogged-up windows as my face pressed against the window to get a better look at the Christmas joy.
It’s been a while since I sat in the back seat of my dad’s pickup truck, but the tradition has never faded for me. Each year, my wife and I make it a point to drive through and take it all in. And I find myself continuing to take a peek as I head down Leggs Hill Road each night from work. The scene never fails to spark joy and fuel my holiday spirit.
If you’ve never checked it out, I highly recommend it!
