The Headers took the ice in their regular season finale on Tuesday, but fell short against Triton 2-1 in Newburyport. Despite the final score, Marblehead never quit.
Down 2-0 in the third period, Marblehead’s Connor Sheridan scored to cut the lead in half – assisted by Drake Wyman and Cam Waldman. And even though two got by him, Griffin Winter of the Headers stood strong between the pipes with 26 saves.
Marblehead’s Christopher Locke and Hogan Sedky recently made the Northeastern Conference All-League teams, while James Caeran and Kyle Hart were selected as All-Stars.

The Marblehead girls basketball team qualified for the state tournament on Thursday, Feb. 16 after getting the better of Swampscott 49-30. Freshman Tess Andriano led the way with 23 points, and Samantha Dormer followed with 10. Freshmen Marri O’Connell and Samara Dosch also impressed, and head coach Paul Moran said “they ran the point and did a great job.”

The Magicians will have a chance to defend the title they won last year after outlasting a tough group of Buccaneers in the first round of the Larry McIntire IAABO Board 130 Classic. Tyrone Countrymon led Marblehead with 26 points, while Ryan Commoss scored 16 and Nicholas Lemmond added 16. Bedford’s Justice Buchanan led all scorers with 40 points.
