The Marblehead Recreation and Parks junior floor hockey program will hold its first session this Sunday, January 8th. The program is an introductory instructional program that will not be scored and have no league standings.
The program will run each Sunday until February 12th, with ages 3.5-4+ beginning at 9:15 a.m., followed by ages 4.5-5+ at 10 a.m., and then ages 5-6+ immediately after at 10:45 a.m. Parents must remain on site during their childrens’ practices and it is not a drop-off program. Games and practices will be held at the Marblehead Community Center in the gymnasium, and the first practice will involve team introductions and practice. After the first session, each one following will involve a 20-minute practice period, followed by a game of four, four-minute quarters, and a one-minute water break in between.
Teams will be decided before the first session and will be emailed to parents/guardians. Before the first game, t-shirts will also be handed out to the kids.
