June 10 town ballot starts to takes shape

All community members who hoped to run for an elected position this summer had to turn in their papers Tuesday. They still have until May 8 to withdraw, but the following candidates are currently expected to be on the June 10 ballot:

  • There is one seat open on the select board, which both Jim Zisson and Yael Magen are running for.
  • Incumbent John G. Attridge is running unopposed to be the moderator.
  • Town clerk has three candidates in the running: incumbent Robin A. Michaud, Melissa Flanagan and Theresa M. Tauro.
  • Michael V. Cannuscio is running unopposed to be the assessor.
  • Gerald P. Tucker Jr. and Rose A McCarthy are running against each other for one cemetery seat; David J. Meyer and Peter Lake are running against each other for the one-year unexpired cemetery term, and incumbent David C. Rogers is running unopposed for the two-year unexpired cemetery term.
  • Three people are running for the sole Board of Health seat: Kimberly A. Crowley, Amanda R. Ritvo and Peter J. Fallon.
  • There is one seat open on the housing authority, which incumbent Theresa M. Tauro and James Regis are going head-to-head for.
  • There are two candidates for the two library trustee positions: Marjorie G. Norman and Kathleen Waslov.
  • There are two candidates for the two light commissioner positions: incumbent Jean-Jacques Yarmoff and incumbent Michael Hull; Matthew B. Harrington and Nathaniel Burke are both running for the sole one-year unexpired light commissioner seat.
  • Incumbent Edward O. Nilsson and J. Timothy Swigor are both running for the only planning board seat.
  • Six people are running for the five recreation & park positions: incumbent Linda Rice Collins, incumbent Shelly Bedrossian, incumbent Karin Ernst, incumbent Rossana Ferrante, Larry J. Simpson and Christopher E. Kennedy.
  • Five people are running for the two open school committee seats: incumbent Sarah A. Fox, Katherine B. Schmeckpeper, Henry Gwazda, Emily Dunham Dejoy and incumbent Alison A. Taylor.
  • James T. Maher, Timothy J. Shotmeyer and incumbent Thomas L. Murray have filed papers for the two water & sewer positions, and Gregory W. Burt is running unopposed for the one-year unexpired water & sewer position.
