To the editor:
I have been working hard with my friend, Pam, calling voters and volunteers, assembling signs and putting them in the ground of willing residents’ properties — in short, putting my heart into the campaign to get Larry Simpson appointed to the Recreation and Parks Department.
In the 72 years that I have been a voter, only once have I worked this hard for a candidate. This is because I believe that Larry has the ability to bring fresh ideas and energy to the department. His knowledge of lawns, plants, and trees, and his management skills gained in his many years as a landscape architect and owner of a business are impressive.
We are facing the very serious issue of climate change and Larry knows that the decisions we make now will have far-reaching impacts for the future health of Marblehead.
