To the editor:
I hope we will vote to reinstate Walter Homan and Nate Burke as Marblehead light commissioners.
From October 2022 to May 2023, my light bill doubled. During that time, the basic service charge went from $4.25 to $11.25. It tripled! Why? The kilowatt hours went from $0.1425 to $0.1969.
Why did we disrupt the one thing in this town that was working? Once upon a time we had cheap and reliable electricity. Why mess with it? “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
Let’s go back to Homan and Burke — a winning team.
