To the editor,
Over the past few months, I have had the chance to work closely with Emily DeJoy through my senior internship, and it has been one of the most meaningful parts of my high school experience. Watching her in action and getting to learn from her up close made it clear to me that she is exactly the kind of leader Marblehead needs.
Emily is super organized and hardworking, but what really stood out to me is how well she listens. She makes everyone feel heard and valued, whether she’s talking to students, parents, or community members. She brings people together instead of pushing them apart, and that’s something our town really needs right now.
As a current senior at Marblehead High School, I have seen the tension between the School Committee, teachers, and students. It has been frustrating at times. But Emily gives me hope. She is thoughtful, and genuinely wants to make things better. Not just for students today, but for the future of our schools.
I’m proud to be voting for her, and I hope others will too.
Sincerely,
Emma Zurn
